Azerbaijani-Dutch Business Forum to be held in Baku

The Azerbaijani-Dutch Business Forum is planned to be held as part of the annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), head of the Azerbaijan Export & Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) Rufat Mammadov told Trend March 17.

The 48th annual meeting of the ADB Council of Heads will be held in Baku on May 3 - 5, 2015.

"Currently, we are also considering a number of inquiries from our foreign colleagues about holding the events, including Azerbaijan," he said.

He said that the company has a number of representative offices abroad, as well as in such countries as the US, Great Britain, Austria, the United Arab Emirates, Georgia and Romania.

AZPROMO also plans to expand its activity on the markets of other countries.

Mammadov said that a special concept is being worked out to promote Azerbaijan's non-oil products on the foreign markets.

The issues of promoting the national brand "Made in Azerbaijan", as well as the branding of some regions of the country and types of products will be reflected as part of this conept.

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands amounted to $19.15 million in January-February 2015 or by 40.39 percent less than in the same period of last year ($32.12 million).

The Asian Development Bank was founded in 1966 and has 67 members. ADB's headquarters is located in Manila, Philippines. Azerbaijan became its member on Dec.22, 1999. The country's share in ADB's capital is 0.5 percent.

The leading shareholders of ADB are Japan and the US (31.2 percent of the total share capital), India and China (12.8 percent), Australia, South Korea and Canada (16 percent).

The active portfolio of ADB in Azerbaijan is $1.2 billion.
