Azerbaijan uses over 66% WB loans

Azerbaijan has used $2.297 billion by January 1, 2015 or 66.4 percent of total loans taken from the World Bank (WB).

Azerbaijan used the WB loans in the amount of $417.9 million in 2014, the government's report as of late 2014 said.

As of January 1, 2015, WB delivered the loans worth $3.739 billion to Azerbaijan. These funds were used to finance 50 projects.

Some 33 projects worth $1.201 billion have been implemented in Azerbaijan so far. Some 17 projects worth $2.537 billion are being implemented.

WB allocated most of loans worth $677.5 million to the country in 2009. Azerbaijan received least of loans from the bank in 2004 - $ 25 million.

Besides these loans, WB allocated 45 grants totaling $ 41.586 million to Azerbaijan in 1995-2014.

By early 2015, Azerbaijan has returned $472 million to the bank.

Azerbaijan has been a WB member since 1992.
