Kazakhstan's large and medium-sized businesses, involved in the agro-industrial complex, increased gross profit by 1.5 times in 2014, Ranking.kz. analytical service said April 1.
"As of 2014, the amount of pre-tax profit amounted to 20.2 billion tenge (185.65 tenge = $ 1) versus 12.2 billion a year earlier," a statement said.
An increase in profit was ensured by the profitability growth. As of the year, the figure was 8.2 percent. The profitability was negative - minus 0.2 percent in 2013.
In total, some 600 companies operate in the sector. Some 72 percent (350 companies) of them made a profit in 2014. Some 53 percent (327 companies) made a profit in 2013.
