Kazakh company seeks to attract advanced technologies for developing renewable energy

Kazakhstan's Samruk-Energo company is interested in attracting advanced technologies for the development of renewable energy sources, the company told Trend.

"It is planned to attract advanced technologies and equipment with higher production performance in the sphere of solar and wind power," said the company.

The company said that there is plan to bring the volume of electricity generation at the facilities of renewable energy sources of Samruk-Energo to 110 million kilowatt hours in 2015 and 355 million kilowatt hours in 2016, according to the company.

In total, the share of electricity generation from renewable energy sources in Kazakhstan was 0.5 percent, or 406.2 million kilowatt hours in 2014.

"It is planned to bring the share of renewable energy sources in Kazakhstan to 3 percent by 2020, 15 percent - by 2015 and 30 percent - 2030," said Samruk-Energo.
