Total deposit portfolio of Kazakh banks increases

The total deposit portfolio of Kazakh banks has increased by 115 billion Kazakh tenge (185.65 tenge = $1) since February 2014, the message from Ranking.kz analytical service said.

This is while the growth of deposits from February 2013 to February 2014 was 1.9 trillion tenge.

"The total volume of deposits in banks stood at 10.9 trillion tenge as of February 2015, compared to 10.7 trillion tenge a year before," said the message.

The highest growth of deposits was recorded in Tsesnabank JSC - the bank's portfolio increased by 198 billion tenge and stood at 967 billion tenge.

Tsesnabank is followed by Kaspi bank, the deposits of which increased by 187 billion tenge and reached 700 billion tenge.

RBK bank became the third - its portfolio grew by 185 billion tenge and stood at 374 billion tenge.

The share of each player in TOP 3 has increased by 1.7 percent.

Among the large players, Fortebank and Bank CenterCredit entered TOP 10 for the growth rate of the deposit portfolio.

Alfa-Bank is the only player among the four Russian banks that entered the TOP 10 for the absolute growth of deposits in a year. The bank's deposits increased by 36 billion tenge and reached 156 billion tenge in February 2015 and this allowed the bank to enter TOP 15 for the volume of deposit portfolio.
