Iran wants to increase cement export to Azerbaijan

Baku, Azerbaijan, Apr.15

By Temkin Jafarov - Trend:

Mazandaran cement plant of Neka company in Iran intends to increase the supply of its products to Azerbaijan, the plant's deputy director Bahram Latifi told Azerbaijani reporters Apr.15.

He said that aside from Azerbaijan, the plant delivers its products to Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Russia and other countries, but Azerbaijan is the closest partner of the Neka company.

"We have cooperated with Azerbaijan for five years," said the deputy director. "On average, the plant was delivering 1 million metric tons of cement and clinker to Azerbaijan per year."

"We delivered 680,000 metric tons of products to Azerbaijan in 2014, which is less than the supply volume in the past years," Latifi said, adding that the reason is that cement plants are commissioned in Azerbaijan and the production volume increases in this sphere.

He said the plant's products meet the international standards, therefore, the Azerbaijani side shows interest in these products.

"The plant mainly delivers M400 and M500 cement to Azerbaijan," Latifi added.
