Uzbekistan, South Korea discuss expansion of cooperation

Uzbek President Islam Karimov and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Strategy and Finance of the Republic of Korea Choi Kyung Hwan discussed the further expansion of the mutually beneficial trade-economic, investment and financial Uzbek-Korean cooperation on May 1, Uzbekistan's presidential press-service said.

During the meeting, President Karimov said that the Republic of Korea is a reliable and time-tested strategic partner of Uzbekistan. The Uzbek-South Korean cooperation is mutually beneficial and fruitful. It is being developed dynamically in all directions.

It was stressed that the third meeting of the finance ministers of the two countries allowed analyzing the current status and determining new areas of cooperation in the economic sphere.

Choi Kyung Hwan confirmed the readiness of the Republic of Korea to further strengthen the multi-faceted and long-term cooperation with Uzbekistan.

On the same day, a meeting of the finance ministers of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea was held. Choi Kyung Hwan and First Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Minister of Finance Rustam Azimov discussed the implementation of the current large-scale joint projects, as well as the cooperation prospects in the financial, investment, industrial, trade, fuel-energy sphere, information technology, telecommunication, health care.
