Afghan ambassador completes his mission in Tashkent

Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov and Ambassador of Afghanistan Mohammad Sadiq Daudzai, who is completing his mission, discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation May 15, the press service of the foreign ministry of the republic said.

During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of the Uzbek-Afghan agenda, including the prospects for the implementation of joint economic projects, according to the press service.

The sides also exchanged views on the upcoming bilateral political contacts, meetings at different levels.

The governments of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan signed a protocol on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of commerce, power engineering, transport and transit in early May 2015.

The document envisages the development of cooperation in the sphere of railway transport development, in particular in the direction of Mazar-i-Sharif-Herat in the north-west of Afghanistan. In addition, the parties agreed to hold industrial fairs in the capitals of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan in the near future.

The sides reached an agreement on the opening of Uzbekistan's trading house of in the capital of Afghanistan in the near future. They also reached an agreement on the preparation of an intergovernmental agreement on the opening of regular flights between the capitals of the two countries.

Fruitful activity of Afghan ambassador, completing his diplomatic mission in the country, was mentioned and a positive assessment of his contribution to the expansion of intergovernmental relations was given at the meeting.

Some 122 enterprises with the Afghan investors' share operate in Uzbekistan, 39 of them operate with Afghanistan's full capital.
