RWE keeps "business options available" on Iran

The German company RWE has said that it keeps all business options available regarding Iran.

RWE spokeswoman Stephanie Möller told Trend that the company is certainly following the discussions and negotiations in the public closely.

Möller said that RWE traditionally doesn't state anything with regards to its strategy, and that stays true regarding Iran as well.

"We will always comply with all public regulations (i.e. sanctions), but keep all business options available to us if those regulations are lifted," Möller added.

In early April 2015, Iran and P5+1 group of international mediators (the US, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany) failed to agree on the fundamental parameters of the future agreement on Tehran's nuclear program in Lausanne after long consultations.

They announced the development of a framework political agreement, which should form the basis of a future comprehensive agreement on international guarantees of the exclusively peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of international sanctions from the country.

Iran and the P5+1 group must conclude a final agreement on Iran's nuclear program by June 30.

Earlier, the Iranian news agency Fars, with a reference to an informed source reported that oil and trade delegations of countries, some of which are EU members, have recently visited Iran. Members of these delegations met with senior representatives of Tehran on the issue of imports of oil and gas of the country, as well as investment in Iran's oil production.
