Azerbaijan, Japan to ink one more agreement

A grant contract on the project for improvement of the waste management system in Azerbaijan's Balaken District is to be signed this week, Japan's Embassy in Azerbaijan told Trend July 29.

The Japanese Ambassador in Azerbaijan Tsuguo Takahashi and the Head of the Balaken District's Executive Authority Islam Rzayev will attend the event.

The project aims to establish a practical and sustainable waste management system through construction of waste storing and recycling facilities.

Japan's government has allocated $90,411 for the project's realization.

So far including this project, three projects have been contracted in the Balaken district.

The total amount of Japan's Official Development Assistance provided for Azerbaijan is over $1 billion, covering a wide range of areas such as improvement of economic infrastructure, agricultural and social sectors, the cultural field, as well as human capacity development.
