Iran is interested in opening a plant of Darou Pakhsh company for producing medicines, Mehdi Mohtashami, head of the secretariat of Azerbaijani-Iranian intergovernmental commission on cooperation in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres said in an exclusive interview with Trend.

"This plant can meet the demand in medicines in the domestic market," he said, adding that it will be possible to export its products to other countries as well.

Moreover, Mohtashami said Iran intends to start car manufacturing in Azerbaijan.

He added that Iran also attaches great importance to shipping and using ports in the Caspian Sea.

"Iran is interested in benefiting from Azerbaijan's experience in this sphere," said Mohtashami.

"There are also other programs to expand the cooperation and I hope that they will be implemented."

Darou Pakhsh is the largest pharmaceutical company in Iran and the region. It is a part of DarouPakhsh Holding which owns 10 companies engaged in production and distribution of medicines and medical research.
