Baku, Azerbaijan, Aug. 5

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran and Cyprus signed a double taxation avoidance agreement.

Head of Iran's tax affairs organization, Ali Askari, and Cyprus finance minister Harris Georgiades, signed the agreement, Iran's IRNA news agency reported August 5.

Georgiades welcomed the nuclear agreement between Iran and world powers, saying that as a member of the EU, Cyprus will fully back the agreement.

Askari, for his part, said that Iran has ample opportunities in industry, tourism, and service sectors for investment.

Iran imported $197,091,171 of products from Cyprus in the past Iranian fiscal year, which ended on March 20, 2015.

However, Cyprus is not among the 50 leading importers of Iranian products.
