Mobile Eye Clinic, one of the unique social projects implemented by Azercell Telecom, the market leader in mobile technologies in Azerbaijan, successfully continues its operation. As usual, Mobile Eye Clinic ensured prevention of eye diseases and complex examination of children deprived of parental care, also served the elderly and the poor.
The project was launched on June 1, 2011 on the International Children's Day. Up to date, some 2 thousand children have benefited from the project that has gained immense popularity in our country. All examination and treatment is being done by the doctors from the Caspian Compassion Project organization. Azercell's initiative has proved so popular that later some other companies also launched similar mobile clinics and began site visits with check-ups.
Only during the last 7 months of this year, Mobile Eye Clinic examined 455 people, out of which 305 were children and 150 were adults. At the same time, 56 children and 31 adults received treatment by the Clinic. Mobile Eye Clinic's doctors served 91 patients in special boarding school No. 5 and SOS Children's village in March.
The clinic staff also visited "Duygu" social rehabilitation center of IMSI youth public union and "Gun erzi" care center in the region of Agjabadi in April. 105 people were examined in these centers. The doctors also visited other regions in May, June, July and August, examined a number of refugees, as well as the disabled and orphans and served 184 people in the regions of Shaki, Agsu and Oguz. Mobile Eye Clinic also supported refugees and the disabled resided in Sumqayit, Masazir and Khirdalan during the summer.
During 4 years of its operation the Clinic has visited several boarding schools and orphanages in Baku. The successful project of Azercell will continue to help people with special needs during the autumn and winter.
