Iran and Austria have signed a contract worth €80 million aimed at improving Iran's printing and packaging industry, CEO of the Tehran Lithographs Cooperative Gholamreza Shoja said.

He said the contract had been signed during a visit paid to Tehran by a high-ranking Austrian delegation a few days earlier, Mehr news agency reported September 13.

Shoja added that the contract comes in line with a governmental policy to seek foreign investment for infrastructural projects.

He further stated that the government has urged foreign investment to lead the packaging industry to the production of standard boxes and labels for the food and hygiene industries.

Austrian President Heinz Fischer led a business delegation to Tehran in early September.

The Austrian president was accompanied by heads of 130 companies and various officials on his visit to Iran.
