Istanbul will host a meeting of energy ministers of the G20 member-states October 1 as part of Turkey's G20 presidency, the Azerbaijani ministry of energy said.

The availability of energy, investments in the energy sector in the current market conditions, energy efficiency and development of renewable energy sources will be discussed as part of the meeting. Moreover, the energy cooperation principles as part of G20 will be appreciated during the meeting.

Energy Minister Natig Aliyev will represent Azerbaijan at the meeting.

G20 is a leading forum for discussing the global economic and financial cooperation. It includes 20 largest national economies - Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Great Britain, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Canada, China, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, USA, Turkey, France, South Korea, South Africa, Japan and the European Union. Some 85 percent of global GDP account for them.

Russia chaired in G20 in 2013, Australia - in 2014, Turkey - in 2015.

Turkey will preside in G20 until November 30, 2015. Azerbaijan participates in the G20 meetings at Turkey's invitation.
