Aktobe rail and structural steel plant in Kazakhstan has signed memorandums on cooperation with the railway administrations of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan for supplying finished products, said the message from Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways).
The signing ceremony took place following the solemn event to mark the start of rolling of rails at the Aktobe rail and structural steel plant.
The enterprise was constructed in accordance with the order of Kazakhstan's president and has no analogues in the CIS.
The design capacity of Aktobe plant is 430,000 tons of metal products per year.
On the same day, the Aktobe plant hosted a 'round table' on the development of railway engineering in Kazakhstan and the prospects for international cooperation.
Furthermore, presentations of the plants manufacturing railway products - Tulpar Talgo, Elektrovozosborochny Plant and others were held on that day.
