As many as 1.5 million jobs have been created in Azerbaijan since 2003, Mammad Musayev, president of Azerbaijan's National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations said Oct.27.

He made the remarks during the conference on "The new stage in the development of entrepreneurship: targets and opportunities".

He added that 87,000 jobs have been created in the country in the first nine months of 2015 and 67,000 of them are permanent jobs.

"All this shows the right economic policy pursued by Azerbaijan, "said Musayev.

Diversification of Azerbaijan's economy, reducing its dependence on the oil sector, developing the non-oil sector and other measures contribute to Azerbaijan's further development, he added.

Musayev said that the statistical data for the past months of 2015 is a proof of Azerbaijan's successful development.

"Despite the difficult economic situation in the world, the major part of Azerbaijan's statistical figures continues to show sustainable development which is one of the main factors proving the country's successful development," he added.

The measures on suspending the inspection of business activities, reducing the number of licenses, simplifying their issuance, tax and customs reforms and other steps taken recently, will even more speed up Azerbaijan's economic development, according to Musayev.

Promoting the domestic production under the conditions of the ongoing crisis in the world, issuing loans for entrepreneurs, protecting the interests of the private sector will allow to even more improve the business environment in the country and strengthen the development of the private sector, he added.
