Russia reaffirms interest in linking its energy system with that of Azerbaijan and Iran, Tass quoted Alexander Novak, Russia's energy minister, as saying Nov. 12.

Novak made the remarks at the 12th meeting of the Russia-Iran Permanent Trade and Economic Cooperation Commission.

He is heading the commission from the Russian side.

"We also confirm the interest in continuing to examine the issue of linking the energy systems of Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan, and we consider it reasonable to resume the tripartite working group," noted Novak.

He further said that Russian companies stand ready to supply agricultural products to Iran.

"We stand for further development of cooperation in agriculture and mutually increasing the supply of agricultural products," said Novak. "It is necessary to note the readiness of Russian companies to supply Iran with agricultural products."

He further noted that the two countries are currently working to expand the supply of milk and livestock products.

"The parties are also engaged in creation of enterprises for development and commercialization of biotechnologies," said Novak.
