Over half of capital investments in Azerbaijan accounts for domestic investments

Around 14.44 billion manat was invested from all financial sources in the development of the economic and social areas of Azerbaijan in January-November 2015, which is 2.4 percent more than in the same period of 2014, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee's report as of January-November 2015 says.

The investments in construction and installation work hit 73.2 percent of a total volume of investments.

Around 8.84 billion manat were invested in the construction of production facilities, while 4.69 billion manat were in non-production facilities, 914 million manat - housing construction.

Around 56.9 percent of the total volume of investments accounted for domestic investments.
Around 9.74 billion manat (67.4 percent of a total volume of investments) of the enterprises' and organizations' funds, 2.7 billion manat (18.7 percent) - budgetary funds, 1.09 billion manat (7.6 percent) - bank loans, 253.3 million manat (1.8 percent) - off-budget funds, 470 million manat (3.3 percent) - personal funds of the population and 179.5 million manat (1.2 percent) - other funds were invested in the fixed assets.

Around 55.33 percent (7.99 billion manat) invested in fixed assets was directed to develop the non-oil sector. Around 6.45 billion manat (44.67 percent) was invested in the oil industry.

Around 52.4 percent of investments accounted for industry, 12.7 percent - construction, 13.9 percent - transport and warehousing, 2.7 percent - recreation, entertainment, art, 2.5 percent - agriculture, fishery, forestry, 1.6 percent - trade, 0.1 percent - financial, insurance activity, 0.1 percent - scientific and technical activity, 0.9 percent - health care, 2.4 percent - communication and information, 3.2 percent - accommodation of tourists and catering sphere, 1.8 percent - education, 0.4 percent - real estate transactions, 0.5 percent - services in other spheres, 0.8 percent - rendering the administrative and additional services, 4 percent - state management, the report says.

The official exchange rate is 1.0499 AZN/USD Dec. 18.
