Tehran, Iran, December 29

By Mehdi Sepahvand - Trend:

Kuwait has proposed to Iran to launch a joint free zone, said Foruzan Ziadlu, CEO of investment at Iran's Supreme Council of Free Zones Secretariat.

She said Iran welcomes joint free zones with neighbors, and as for Kuwait's proposal, an executive plan should be prepared and presented to the government and Parliament, ISNA news agency reported December 29.

She further said that in the past months many foreign delegations have visited Iran's free zones and been acquainted with the conditions and regulations.

"In free zones, we have more enticing and facilitating regulations than the mainland, plus the fact that free zones are by nature international," the official pointed out.

Iran is central to 18 countries geographically and is a regional hub which can turn into a center for the production and distribution of goods, she further said.
