Kazakhstan ups gold, silver production in 2015

Kazakhstan increased gold production by 26.6 percent in 2015 compared to the same period of 2014

Kazakhstan increased gold production by 26.6 percent in 2015 compared to the same period of 2014, the Statistics Committee under Kazakh National Economy Ministry said.

The country produced 63.72 tons of raw, semi-finished gold and gold in powder during the reporting period.

Refined gold production hit 30.979 tons (15.2 percent increase) in 2015.

Meanwhile raw, semi-finished silver, and silver in power production increased by 32 percent - to 1.305 million tons. Refined silver production amounted to 1.303 million tons (32.5 percent increase) in this period.

Production of crude steel in 2015 in Kazakhstan decreased by 2.5 percent - up to 3.913 million tons.

Production of ferroalloys in 2015 in Kazakhstan grew by 4.2 percent - to 1.767 million tons.

Aluminium production in the reporting period increased by 2.5 percent - to 1.669 million tons. Zinc production fell by 0.2 percent - up to 324,340 tons.

Lead production in Kazakhstan in the last year fell by 5.4 percent - up to 119,893 tons.
