The UN predicts a slowdown in real GDP growth of Tajikistan to five percent in 2016

The UN predicts a slowdown in real GDP growth of Tajikistan to five percent in 2016, according to the UN "World Economic Situation and Prospects 2016" report.

The "World Economic Situation and Prospects" report is prepared in the beginning of each year by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UN CTAD) and five regional commissions of the organization.

GDP growth in Tajikistan amounted to six percent in 2015, according to the UN estimates.

The UN expects that in 2017, GDP growth of Tajikistan will return to the level of 2015 again and amount to six percent.

At the same time, inflation in Tajikistan is projected at 6.5 percent in 2016, and 5.1 percent in 2017.

In 2015, the inflation rate in Tajikistan was 6.5 percent, according to the UN estimates.
