Goldman Sachs became an owner of 7.68 percent of shares in the Turkish petrochemical complex Petkim, the Turkish Public Disclosure Platform (Kamuoyunu Aydınlatma Platformu - KAP) said Feb. 3.

Petkim's authorized capital increased to 1.5 billion Turkish liras as a result of the issue of 500 million Turkish liras.

Petkim produces plastic packages, fabric, detergents, and is the sole Turkish manufacturer of such products, a quarter of which is exported.

KAP said that as a result of the issue of 115.19 million liras, Goldman Sachs indirectly became an owner of 7.68 percent of shares in Petkim.

The share of the Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR increased to 51.39 percent following the issue.

The shares of other shareholders stand at 40.93 percent.
