The volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan increased by 2.6 percent in January-February 2016 and stood at 437.9 million manats in actual prices compared to the same period in 2015, said the report issued by the country's State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, the crop production has increased by 4.5 percent.
The report said that the country has produced 73,400 tons of meat in live weight, 290,100 tons of milk and 270.9 million eggs in January-February 2016.
The meat production has increased by 1.5 percent, milk - 3.8 percent and egg - 4.7 percent, compared to the same period in 2015.
During the reporting period, sowing of spring plants began in Azerbaijan.
The report said that 30,100 tons of perennial grasses, 10,400 hectares of potatoes, 7,500 tons of vegetables, 2,600 tons of grain and leguminous crops, as well as 100 hectares of sugar beet have been sown since the beginning of the season.
