The volume of cargo transportation via the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) through Azerbaijan's territory stood at 3.86 million tons in January-February 2016, or 19.6 percent less than in the same period in 2015, said the report issued by Azerbaijan's State Statistical Committee.
Of the total volume of cargo transportation, 65.3 percent accounted for road transport, 25.3 percent - railway and 9.4 percent - maritime, according to the report.
TRACECA is an international cooperation program in the sphere of transportation between the EU and partner countries in Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia. The organization has a permanent secretariat in Baku.
TRACECA member states are Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Moldova, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Iran.
