Kazakhstan reduces cargo transportation by railways, maritime

Kazakhstan has reduced the cargo transportation via railways and maritime transport in the first quarter of 2016.

Kazakhstan has reduced the cargo transportation via railways and maritime transport in the first quarter of 2016, said the website of the Statistics Committee of the country's National Economy Ministry.

In total, 803.55 million tons of cargo was transported via all types of transport in the first quarter of 2016, which is slightly more than the volume of cargo transportation in the same period in 2015.

The transportation of goods and luggage by railways has dropped by 5.7 percent in January-March 2016 compared to the same period in 2015 and stood at 74.87 million tons.

Transportation via pipelines has increased by 7.7 percent and totaled 60 million tons in the first three months of 2016.

The transportation of goods and luggage via the air transport has decreased by 5.2 percent and stood at 3.55 tons, sea transport - 39.6 percent (459.770 tons), while the transportation via the urban electric transport grew by 0.1 percent and totaled 668 2 million tons.
