Uzbekistan and China have discussed the status and prospects for developing the cooperation in trade, economic, investments, financial and technical fields, said Uzbekistan's Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade May 4.

The discussions were held with China's Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng who is on a visit to Uzbekistan.

China is one of the largest trade, economic and investment partners of Uzbekistan.

Currently, the Uzbek-Chinese relations are developing in all spheres in accordance with the joint declaration on establishing strategic partnership signed during the first state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Uzbekistan in September of 2013.

During that visit, the sides also signed a package of documents on joint implementation of the projects with the total cost of $15 billion.

The volume of bilateral trade between the two countries is growing steadily. It has increased by six times over the last six years. The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and China stood at $4.75 billion in 2014.

Currently, 482 enterprises, created with participation of Chinese partners, operate in Uzbekistan.
