Profit of Kazakhstan’s largest airport grows

The profit of Almaty International Airport, which is the largest airport in Kazakhstan, stood at 1.74 billion tenges (335.01 tenges = $1) in the first quarter of 2016, as compared to 960.22 million tenges in the same period in 2015, said the website of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE).

This is while the airport's gross profit rose to 1.86 billion tenges in January-March 2016, as compared to 1.49 billion tenges in the same period in 2015.

During the reporting period, the revenues of Almaty International Airport stood at 10.83 billion tenges, as compared to 9.41 billion tenges in the same period in 2015.

The airport's assets increased from 57.99 billion tenges to 58.49 billion tenges in the first three months of 2016.

Almaty International Airport ranks first in Kazakhstan in terms of domestic and international passenger and cargo transportation by air.
