The amount of the state tax when getting a single entry visa has been reduced and some state duties were abolished in Azerbaijan.

The amendments to the law 'On State Tax' were put to the vote and adopted at the extraordinary plenary session of the Azerbaijani parliament June 14 following the discussions.

According to the amendments, the state tax when getting a single entry and transit visa has been set in the amount of $20 (earlier $50).

Some state duties for consular operations carried out in Azerbaijan and the diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan abroad were abolished.

According to the amendments, the state tax when registering tourist visas and visas for students who study on the basis of an individual contract (state tax was $20), transit visas (state tax when registering a single entry transit visa was $20, double entry transit visa - $40) were abolished.

The changes are aimed to facilitate the entry of foreigners in Azerbaijan for tourism purposes, to make the country favorable for transit transportations and increase the interest of foreign citizens in choosing the country as a transit point.
