Airbus Defence and Space has opened a representative office in Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Taxes Ministry's Vergiler newspaper wrote June 15.
Airbus Defence and Space is a division of Airbus Group responsible for defence and aerospace products and services.
According to the newspaper, the company was registered in the Azerbaijani Taxes Ministry March 16, 2016.
The company has been registered at 90A Nizami st., Sabail district, Baku, Azerbaijan, the newspaper wrote.
Previously, Azercosmos company (satellite operator) told Trend that the Azersky low-orbit satellite control center will be built in Azerbaijan, and the work will be carried out as part of the cooperation between Azercosmos company and Airbus Defence and Space.
The specialists of Airbus Defence and Space will be engaged in the construction of a ground antenna system for Azersky center and conducting the satellite control training for Azercosmos employees during the year.
The Azersky control center will be located in the main satellite control center (37th kilometer of the Baku-Shamakhi highway).
Azersky satellite, currently owned by Azerbaijan, and SPOT 6 satellite, owned by Airbus Defence and Space, are used to render the Earth remote sensing services.
