A project on accepting UnionPay cards in POS-terminals of interbanking payment system UzCard was launched in Uzbekistan.
The launch of the project will create opportunity to use UnionPay cards at POS-terminals’ network of UzCard. Currently, POS-terminals of UzCard are installed at trade and service enterprises.
Within the project, modern technological platform of processing center, which meets current requirements of the industry, was created on the bases of UzCard.
Processing system received PCI-DDS certificate, which will allow to integrate with other international payment systems.
National payment system of Uzbekistan UzСard unites payment systems of all commercial banks, which ensures mutual servicing of banking cards of the member banks of UzCard.
Currently, commercial banks of Uzbekistan issued over 17 million banking cards, of which 9.5 million operate in online mode.
It is worth to mention that since 2009 several Uzbek banks have been members of UnionPay International. They are National bank of Uzbekistan, Ipak Yoli Bank, Hamkorbank, Infinbank and Davrbank.
Introduction of the project is strategic step in complex cooperation and interaction between UzCard and UnionPay International.
