Hungarian MOL Group is interested in taking part in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas projects, according to Vitaly Baylarbayov, Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company’s (SOCAR) deputy vice-president for investments and marketing.

“The development of specific fields has not been discussed yet,” Baylarbayov told reporters in Baku June 28.

"MOL has not shown specific interest, so it is too early to say that the company will work on any field in Azerbaijan,” he said. “The talks will be held, but in such situations it is the opposite side that always shows interest first. SOCAR, in turn, is ready to work with MOL Group.”

MOL Group is a leading integrated Central & East European oil and gas corporation headquartered in Budapest, Hungary. It has operations in over 40 countries and employs almost 30,000 people worldwide. MOL’s exploration and production activities are supported by more than 75 years’ experience in the hydrocarbon field.
