Azerbaijan’s industry slightly grows

Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector increased by 2.4 percent in January-June 2016, while the oil sector grew by 0.4 percent, as compared to the same period of 2015.

Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector increased by 2.4 percent in January-June 2016, while the oil sector grew by 0.4 percent, as compared to the same period of 2015, said the country’s State Statistics Committee in its H1 2016 report.

Total value of industrial output (the manufactured goods and rendered industrial services) in Azerbaijan amounted to 14.75 billion Azerbaijani manats (1.5576 AZN/USD on July 14) during the period, which is 0.6 percent more than in January-June 2015.

During the period, output of mining industry totaled 9.5 billion manats in value terms with a specific weight of 64.6 percent of all industrial production, which is by 0.6 percent more than in H1 2015.

Azerbaijan produced 21 million tons of oil during the period, while the natural gas output was 14.92 billion cubic meters.

Oil production increased by 0.4 percent in Azerbaijan in H1 2016 as compared to January-June 2015, while the gas production increased by 1.2 percent.

Products worth 4.3 billion manats (28.9 percent of the total volume of industrial production) were manufactured by the country’s processing industry during the period, which is 4.2 percent more than in January-June 2015.

Production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam decreased by 5.9 percent in January-June 2016 as compared to the same period of 2015, while water supply, waste treatment and recycling decreased by 0.3 percent.
