Azerbaijan’s foreign trade operations decreased by 28 percent and totaled $7.87 billion in H1 2016 compared to the same period of 2015, said the country’s State Customs Committee July 18.
The H1 2016 was completed with negative balance of $225.77 million, while there was a positive balance of $1.5 billion in the same period of 2015.
In January-June 2016, 163 countries were Azerbaijan’s foreign trade partners and in total, 8,760 legal entities and individuals (4,002 – legal entities, 4,758 – individuals) were involved in the country’s foreign economic activities.
Azerbaijan exported products worth $3.8 billion (decrease by 38.67 percent during the year) in H1 2016. The share of public sector in export amounted to about $3.3 billion, the private sector - $390.8 million, individuals - $123.15 million.
The country’s import exceeded $4.05 billion during the period, which is by 13.98 percent less than in H1 2015. The public sector’s share in import operations totaled $660.9 million, the private sector - $3.14 billion, individuals - $242.06 million during the reporting period.
Azerbaijan exported 2,060 kinds of goods, imported – 6,520 kinds of goods in January-June 2016.
