Feasibility study developed for construction of new int’l terminal at Tashkent airport

Consortium of Korean companies headed by Incheon International Airport Corporation (managing company of Incheon Airport in Seoul) has completed the development of the project feasibility study on the construction of a new international passenger terminal at the Tashkent airport (Tashkent-4), the country's national air carrier Uzbekistan Airways told Trend Aug. 4.

The project’s cost is $336.443 million.

The development of the project feasibility study was carried out attracting grant funds of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

The terminal’s area will be 86,940 square meters and the capacity – 1,500 passengers per hour, according to the parameters of the project feasibility study that has been given to the Uzbek government.

The terminal will serve 5.7 million passengers per year. The airport’s apron for 36 aircrafts and a parking area will also be available for the terminal.

The project on the construction of the Tashkent-4 terminal was included in the program of development and modernization of Uzbekistan’s engineering and communications, road and transportation infrastructures for 2015-2019. Construction and assembly works on the project are planned to start in 2017.

It is expected that the terminal’s construction will take three years and will be completed in 2019.
