Passenger terminal of Kazakh capital’s airport under reconstruction

Passenger terminal is under reconstruction in Kazakhstan’s Astana International Airport. The reconstruction started in November 2014 and is planned to be completed in late March 2017

Passenger terminal is under reconstruction in Kazakhstan’s Astana International Airport. The reconstruction started in November 2014 and is planned to be completed in late March 2017, Kazakh Railways Company, which owns 100 percent shares of the airport reported.

The design capacity of the new terminal will reach 4.6 million passengers per year and 1,775 passengers per hour. The new terminal will have area of 47,000 square meters and will be equipped with the latest technologies.

Passenger terminal of the airport which is functioning now has a capacity of 3 million passengers per year. Thus, the Astana airport will be able to serve more than 7.5 million passengers per year after completing the reconstruction.
Astana Airport’s passenger traffic hit almost 3.37 million people in 2015.
