Cargo transportation via pipelines decreased by 2.3 percent in Kazakhstan in January-Aug. 2016 and stood at 138.95 million tons

Cargo transportation via pipelines decreased by 2.3 percent in Kazakhstan in January-Aug. 2016 and stood at 138.95 million tons, according to Kazakh Statistics Committee data.

During the period, revenues from cargo transportation via pipelines in Kazakhstan increased by 17.7 percent and totaled 737.63 billion tenges (338.86 tenges = $1) .

In total, over 2.33 billion tons of cargo was transported by all types of transport in the country in January-Aug. 2016, or 0.4 percent less than in the same period of 2015.

Revenues from transportation of cargo, baggage and cargo luggage by all types of transport in Kazakhstan stood at 1.22 trillion tenges in January-Aug. 2016.
Cargo and baggage transportation by car and urban transport increased by 0.3 percent to 1.98 billion tons, air transportation increased by 7.6 percent to 10.69 tons, while sea transportation decreased by 2.3 percent to 1.72 million tons.
Rail transportation of cargo and baggage stood at 207.56 million tons in January-Aug. 2016, or 4.7 percent less than in the same period of 2015.
