Kazakhstan and China are implementing 51 mutual projects worth $26 billion, the Kazakh Investment and Development Ministry said Sept. 21.

The projects are being implemented in Kazakhstan in the oil and gas processing, chemical industry, engineering, energy, light industry, processing of agricultural products, transportation and logistics, new technologies and consumer goods production.

Kazakhstan is a major shareholder in the majority of these projects.
The latest equipment will be used in these projects, which are planned to export considerable part of their products to China.
Among the largest projects is Asia Steel Pipes Corp’s plant, which will produce 150,000 tons of steel pipes of large diameter and meet the needs of Kazakhstan's oil and gas sector and the markets of the Customs Union, Central Asia, Iran and the Caucasus.

Moreover, KazMinerals’ will start construction of a smelter in 2017. The capacity of the smelter will reach 300,000 tons of copper per year.
There is also a plan to build the second stage of the electrolysis plant producing primary aluminum. It will allow to process up to 85 percent of the aluminum produced in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan and China also plan to build an integrated gas chemical complex which will produce up to 500,000 tons of polypropylene a year.
