Over 15 state facilities privatized in Azerbaijan (PHOTO)

Sixteen state facilities were sold in Azerbaijan within the framework of the third stage of privatization at the regular auction held September 27 by the State Committee on Property Issues of Azerbaijan, said the committee in a message.

The third stage of privatization started as part of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s decree on additional measures to improve the state property privatization process dated May 19, 2016, as well as the president’s decree on some measures to improve the management efficiency and speed up the state property privatization process dated July 19, 2016.

According to the decree, the acceleration of the state property privatization process has been defined as an important direction of the economic policy.

Three lots of state property put up for privatization Sept. 27 in Azerbaijan comprise 30-percent stakes in joint stock companies, and the remaining 13 lots are small state enterprises and facilities.

Four of these 13 state-owned enterprises and facilities are located in Baku, and the remaining nine in other cities and districts of Azerbaijan.

As many as 85 facilities of state property will be put up for privatization in Azerbaijan at the next auction to be held October 11.
