Bulgaria offers Azerbaijan to up permits for cargo transportation

Bulgaria has offered Azerbaijan to consider increasing the quota of the universal permits for cargo transportation by cars to 600 and to/from third countries - to 200, according to the report of the 4th session of the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation held in Baku.

During the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation in the field of road transport and noted with satisfaction the annually increasing volumes of cargo transportation between the two countries.

Azerbaijan and Bulgaria have also agreed to intensify constructive cooperation of the parties in working groups on transport industries held under the auspices of the TRACECA transport corridor in order to develop and implement joint initiatives aimed at achieving further growth in the cargo turnover and transit multimodal transportation, as well as the further implementation of the conditions and requirements of the agreement on the TRACECA development.

TRACECA is an international cooperation program in the sphere of transport among the EU and partner-countries in Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia. The organization has a permanent secretariat in Baku.

TRACECA member-states are Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Moldova, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Iran.
