Spain’s Ecisa has willingness to develop the Iranshahr-Chabahar gas pipeline in Iran, which is the remaining part of the Iran Gas Trunkline 7 (IGAT7) meant to export gas to Pakistan.

Head of Engineering Department at Ecisa, Luis Andreu told SHANA that the company can take part in the Iranshahr-Chabahar natural gas pipeline project using its own funds.

Iran is developing petrochemical plants in Chabahar as well. The country is also developing a pipeline to deliver ethane to this region. The source of both natural gas (methane) and ethane is South Pars gas field.

Currently, the transit capacity of IGAT7 stands at 20 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d), but in case Pakistan starts to intake Iranian gas, the country can increase the transit capacity to 90 mcm/d by installing compressors.

The length of the Iranshahr-Chabahar natural gas pipeline is about 180 km.
