Turkmen refinery to produce polypropylene tapes

A biaxially-oriented polypropylene tape production facility will be put into operation on Turkmenistan’s Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries soon, the online newspaper of the Turkmen Oil and Gas Complex reported.

According to the newspaper, the start-up work is underway.

"These tapes are in great demand both on domestic and foreign markets, the newspaper reported.

Moreover, the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries produces the high-octane gasoline, liquefied gas, polypropylene, etc.

Earlier, it was reported that the capacity of the facility will reach more than 20,000 tons per year.

Turkmenistan plans to increase oil refining capacity up to 20 million tons in 2020, up to 22 million tons in 2025, up to 30 million tons in 2030.

At present, the country annually produces around 10 million tons of oil.
