Turkmenistan reveals budget revenues, expenses in 2016

The Turkmen state budget’s profitable part was executed by 102 percent, while its expenditure part was executed by 86.5 percent in 2016, the Turkmen government said in a message.

More than 80 percent of the Turkmen budgetary funds have been allocated to finance the social sphere during this period, the message said.

According to the state budget of Turkmenistan approved in 2015, the 2016 revenues and expenses were projected at 102.48 billion manats and 104.88 billion manats, respectively.

Official exchange rate in Turkmenistan has remained at 3.50 manats per $1 since January 1, 2015.

The revenue part of the Turkmen state budget is mainly formed through such sectors as oil and gas, chemical industry, power generation, and construction sector.

Turkmenistan enjoys one of the key positions in its region in terms of the natural gas supply.
