Almost 22.34 billion passengers were transported by all types of transport in Kazakhstan in January-December 2016, which is 2.3 percent more than in 2015, according to Kazakh Statistics Committee’s data.
Revenues from passenger transportation stood at around 408.45 billion tenges (332.68 tenges = $1) during the period.
Passenger transportation by car and urban electric vehicles increased by 2.3 percent in January-December 2016 and reached 22.31 billion people.
Air transportation of passengers increased by 1.4 percent and neared 6.01 million people during the period.
This is while the rail passenger transportation decreased by 16.6 percent and stood at 22.34 million people during the period.
