Azerbaijan has invited Turkish companies to establish joint ventures in various spheres, Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Heydar Asadov said.

He made the remarks Feb. 23 during the Azerbaijani-Turkish business forum in Baku.

“Last year, Turkey exported agricultural products worth $100 million to Azerbaijan,” Asadov said. “This is a good indicator of the Azerbaijani-Turkish relations, but it is time for us to get to a new level of relations between our countries.”

He added that Azerbaijan is ready to create all the necessary conditions for Turkish businessmen.

“We already have the necessary legal framework, and reforms have significantly improved the business environment in Azerbaijan,” the minister said.

Asadov went on to add that Azerbaijan is actively developing the sphere of pharmaceutics and is interested in establishing joint ventures in this area.

“We have already started to create a number of pharmaceutical plants, and I invite Turkish companies to invest in this sector,” said Asadov.
