Top-10 Azerbaijani insurers’ payments near 42M manats

Payment of claims by Azerbaijan’s 10 major insurance companies amounted to 41.66 million Azerbaijani manats in January-February 2017, said the Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FIMSA) in a report.

The figure accounts for 95 percent of all the insurance payments for 2016.

Ateshgah Life Insurance leads the ranking in terms of the payments in January-February 2017. The company’s share of the total payments was 39.07 percent. Payments of Ateshgah Life Insurance totaled 17.14 million manats in January-February 2017.

PASHA Life Insurance ranked the second in the list with 6.79 million manats (15.48 percent), being followed by PASHA Insurance – 6.12 million manats (13.95 percent).

In January-February 2017, all insurance companies operating in Azerbaijan collected 103.8 million manats in premiums, which is by 6.03 percent less than in the same period of 2016.

Payments of claims by the Azerbaijani insurance companies reached 43.86 million manats during the period, which is 10.23 percent more than in January-February 2016.

Twenty-one insurance companies operate in Azerbaijan.
