Azerbaijan exported goods in the amount of $2.6 billion in January-March 2017, which is by 49.2 percent more than in January-March 2016, the country’s State Customs Committee’s report said.
According to the report, some $2.16 billion accounted for the state sector share in export operations, $409.6 million - the private sector, $33.2 million – individuals.
Azerbaijan mainly exported oil and oil products, gas, plastic and plastic products, as well as fruits and vegetables in January-March 2017, the report said.

According to the report, import exceeded $1.5 billion, which is by 17.12 percent less than in January-March 2016. Some $144.89 million accounted for the state sector share in import operations, almost $1.3 billion – the private sector, almost $88.9 million – individuals.
Azerbaijan mainly imported various machines and mechanisms, electronic equipment, ferrous metals, plastic, timber, sugar, vegetables and fruits during the reporting period, the report said.

Azerbaijan's foreign trade transactions increased by 15.31 percent and reached $4.1 billion in January-March 2017 compared to January-March 2016. The country carried out trade with 149 countries.
