Passenger transportation slightly up in Kazakhstan

About 5.37 billion passengers were transported by all types of transport in Kazakhstan in January-March 2017, which is 0.8 percent more than in the same period of 2016, according to Kazakh Statistics Committee’s data.

Revenues from passenger transportation stood at around 93.58 billion tenges (331.7 tenges = $1) during the period.

Passenger transportation by car and urban electric vehicles increased by 0.8 percent in January- March 2017 and reached 5.36 billion people. Revenues from passenger transportation by car and urban electric vehicles decreased by 3.6 percent and hit 23.22 billion tenges in the reporting period.

Air transportation of passengers increased by 13.6 percent and reached 1.43 million people during the period. Revenues from air transportation of passengers increased by 7.7 percent and reached 51.1 billion tenges.
The rail passenger transportation increased by 0.3 percent and stood at 5.04 million people during the period. Revenues from rail passenger transportation increased by 2 percent and amounted to 19.26 billion tenges.
