Metals, alloys output up in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan increased ore extraction in January- March 2017 as compared to the same period of 2016, said the Kazakh Statistics Committee.

Iron ore extraction in Kazakhstan during the period increased by 18 percent to 9.34 million tons.
Copper ore extraction increased by 45.9 percent to 22.45 million tons.

Production of crude steel increased by 11 percent to 1.09 tons, while production of flat rolled steel rose by 2.4 percent to 654,515 tons.
Production of unprocessed zinc decreased by 0.6 percent and hit 80,758 tons.

Refined copper production increased by 1.8 percent to 101,542 tons in January-March 2017 as compared to the same period of 2016.
Production of raw aluminum increased by 0.4 percent to 432,929 tons.
Production of ferroalloys increased by 10.3 percent to 488,796 tons.
