Baku, Azerbaijan, Apr. 20
By Azad Hasanli – Trend:
Azerbaijan’s first private credit bureau will start full operation this year, said Elchin Ahmadov, executive director of Creditinfo Azerbaijan, which manages the credit bureau.
“It is too early to speak about concrete dates,” he told reporters in Baku. “The question remains open concerning increasing the information [about borrowers] and the financial sector’s familiarization with a wider range of services the bureau will render.”
Once a year, people will be able to receive, through the ASAN service, information about themselves, to be collected by the credit bureau, according to him.
Baku hosted a ceremony of establishing Azerbaijan's first private credit bureau on Apr. 19. Twenty-one local organizations are the founders of the credit bureau. They are 19 banks, one insurance company and one non-bank credit organization. Creditinfo, also a founder and a technical partner, owns 51 percent of the bureau’s shares.
